Currie, John

John Currie, mercantile assistant, was listed as a resident of Hong Kong from 1846 to 1850. He was employed by the mercantile firm, Jardine, Matheson & Co., as an assistant between 1846 and 1850. He was also listed as an underwriter and auctioneer in the same year. Address: East Point was listed as his address in 1850.

Two individuals and two firms were listed as underwriters and general auctioneers in the 1850 Hong Kong Almanack and Directory, arranged according to priority of license. They were: John Currie, W. H. Franklyn, Smith & Brimelow and McEwen & Co.
